Live view flash trigger issues with Canon 5D Mark iv while tethered
I'm having issues with triggering my strobes when I'm in live view. I'm shooting with Canon 5D Mark iv and I'm using my iMac 27" OS High Sierra 10.13.6
The strobes won't trigger when I'm in live view but when I unplug the tether cable, my strobes will fire. I have no issues when I'm using my Canon 5D Mark iii
Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

I recently had a similar issue on my 5D4 and I solved it by changing the shutter mode on the camera when shooting in live view. I cant remember the exact language but it's in the live view settings on the camera and I think it's to do with using silent shutter mode which you can not do if you want flash sync in live view shooting.
I was shooting tethered at the time but didn't try untethered, so there is a difference in our situations.
Hope that helps!

Thanks Adrian,
I actually had a digi tech friend help me solve the problem too.
I had to turn off the silent shutter mode as well as disable or enable the live view and everything worked as it should. I didn't have to change the shutter speed so that's a good thing.
Thanks for posting!

Actually, I had to disable the the silence LV Shoot as well as the Expo Simulation and Enable the Live shoot to get everything to work. For anyone out there that come across this issue... Hope that helps.
