Why not use a TIFF file instead? They can contain layers too but offer better compatibility than PSD files.

...it might also save you from having to read the somewhat poor german syntax of that error message.
but out of curiosity: how big is your panorama, both in pixel dimensions and size?0 -
...with an 8x10 Arca Swiss as your point of reference I would expect them to be on the large side of things.
