Selecting images I want
I've seen many threads but all have been about exporting, or editing, etc, etc. Not specifically about SELECTING.
I simply want to choose various images (in no order per say) within the browser that will then show up in the viewer. I see I can sort, I can select images by selecting one then holding down the shift key, but they are only selecting as a whole. I want to pick an image at the top of the browser (regardless of how I have them sorted) then scroll down, pick another image, scroll down some more and pick another image, etc. WHAT AM I MISSING??

Figured it out on my own finally. Holding down the control key. I probably just a terrible searcher but I didn't see that written anywhere. If all else fails, try EVERY button!

That is a long time standard Windows modifier key for selecting random files.

Right, and now I’m about to change to Apple as I have I have a MacBook in order. I’ll have to look up all their differences for keyboard shortcuts among many other changes I’ll need to learn

Mac has the same selection concept. Just uses a differently-named key.
