v21 catalogs are being reported as v14.3.0.185 Pro and will not load

This error is occurring under v14.1.1 for Windows.  The catalogs are on a usb v3 external drive and it has occurred identically on two different computers. The affected catalogs were all created under 20 Pro or 21 Pro.  Back at version 14 I was using the Sony only version so it is a little puzzling to see the claim they were created under Pro.  This began after purchasing the pre-release v22 and getting a new license number.  New catalogs created after this error appeared are working properly.  I have not checked all my catalogs, but I have gone back several months and get the same error on every one.  I put this in as a submit request  12 days ago and have gotten no response at all.  

I have been thinking that going to v22 might solve this but have also been fearful that it might make it unsolvable. I still have the v21 install files and could go back to that if necessary, I suppose.  Has anyone else had or seen an error like this?  My searches have not produced anything.

BRAIN FART:  I forgot that Capture One jumped many version numbers when 20 came out.  The problem here isn't that it thinks these catalogs are too old, but that they are from a version NEWER than I'm currently running.  I am going to update to v22 (actually v15.0) and try.  I will get back to you with the result.

 

Everytime I try to run Setup for Capture One 22, I get an error dialog reading:

Setup was unable to create the directory "C:\Users\Abraham\AppData\Local\Temp\is-D23K0.tmp".

Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified

with the same path but a different directory name (after "is-") each time. So, no joy with my original problem.  Don't know if I even have a functioning program at all now.

    My error running 22's Setup was being caused by Controlled Folder Access, a Windows Defender feature used to prevent ransomware attacks.  The catalogs that would not load are on an external drive and I will have to move it over to find out if Capture One 22 will load them.  But at least 22 is up and running.
