Upgrade from 20 to 21, Sessions missing

Not sure what you mean by "didn't automatically load all of the Sessions that were created in version 20"

If you are thinking about the "Open Recent" menu option then the chances are that that has been re-created for the upgrade installation. There are certain dynamic settings that are rarely appropriate to try to carry over.

All you need to do is navigate using finder to the catalog or session database file and select it to open it.

If the C1 upgrade requires some changes to the file you will be advised and asked if you want to proceed. If you do the existing version of the catalog or session DB file will be saved as a backup.

Sessions, by their nature of being "Projects" that people may work on to completion and then move on, may sit around in the system untouched for years. C1 will usually offer the option to re-open sessions that have not been touched through several versions and bring them up to the needs of the C1 version you wish to use. The same for catalogues.

The images in the sessions or catalogue will usually be left as they are, linked to the processing engine that was used to create them unless you choose to re-open editing of an image at which point you will be offered the opportunity to upgrade the engine to the latest version.

Thank you for the reply. Navigating to the finder and opening each session database did the trick. I'm now seeing all my sessions in the newly installed Capture One 22. Was just surprised when I upgraded from 21 to 22, it opened completely blank, without any of the sessions I had created previously. Would prefer an upgrade experience where the initiation of the upgrade process automatically deactivate old license, activates license for new version and automatically loads previously built sessions and catalogs. Perhaps, if I were using a catalog workflow, this would be the case? Loving the software, apologies if I'm misunderstanding how to properly manage a session workflow.
