Stitch to Panorama results in error "Adding the processed image to the collection failed"
I've been having a play with the new Capture One 22 Panoramic Stitch feature. The dialogue and preview box appears and works well every time, but I constantly get the message "Adding the processed image to the collection failed". Everything appears to be working as normal and the processing box appears after clicking on "stitch". I have checked both the collection the images are in, and the library folder and neither has the newly created panoramic image.
I am trying to do this using DNG files from a Leica M10 Monochrome on a 2020 intel based iMac running OS 11.6
Any help would be very gratefully received.

I'm getting the same error when trying an HDR merge with a Leica Q2 Monochrom; I can't imagine that it doesn't work with monochrome files, they're still DNG files.
2021 M1 iMac.

Good to know I'm not alone but it's odd that you're getting it on a monochrom too. I'm guessing now, but I imagine the files out of the Q2 (lovely camera by the way!) are the same apart from the pixel count. I haven't tried it with any colour Leica files yet - that might be a little project for me tomorrow.

I see no reason why it shouldn't work. I checked the security settings in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy, to ensure that C1 has write access, but I was working with other photos today, so there's no reason why this shouldn't work.
I've submitted a support request; you should to so they know that this is affecting multiple people.

The "Notes" section at the bottom of this article may or may not have relevance to this discussion.

I don't have a Monochrome camera so cannot check for myself.

Thanks - I'll take a look at the notes section again, but reading it the first time I could see nothing to hint at the issue.
I've also submitted a case to CaptureOne to see what they say.

Yes, it says "achromatic cameras" are not supported. I assume that means cameras like the Leica Monochrome.
That kind of sucks...

The notes state that panoramic can't be made from achromatic files. Perhaps the fact that the Monochrome files contain no colour data fits them into this bracket. If this is the case, I'll make a future update request.
In the meantime I'll wait for CaptureOne to come back on the support case and post the response here once I have it.

FWIW, if I look inside the library package, the files are created, but for some reason C1 doesn't want to add them to the library. My samples have a lot of purple fringing, which could easily be removed by converted the files back to BW, and while they don't look great, they're okay. (I didn't try adjusting one.) Also FWIW, I have no problem doing an HDR merge in Affinity Photo, which is the only other software I have that supports HDR. They are just DNG files, so there's no reason why this shouldn't work.

I just got the following reply from support:
Thanks for contacting us, this is a known bug that our RnD engineers are working on to fix. I will place your ticket on-hold and will get back to you when we have a response from our engineers or if we need any more information for this report.
We also cannot guarantee that this bug will be fixed in the next service release, but rest assured that it has been reported and will be looked into and our developers will do their best to roll out a fix as soon as possible.0 -
Thanks Kirk. That's useful to know. Out of interest, what camera are the files from, that you're having problems with?

As I said above, a Leica Q2 Monochrom.

I've received a response from support today and they point me back to this part of the release notes for stitch to panoramic:
- RAW files from achromatic cameras are not supported for Panorama and HDR merging. (That might change in future updates
So, the same lack of support will account for both of our issues. It is odd though, because I can get right through the stitch process and it shows a progress bar as if it is completing the task. Might be worth us both putting in a future development request and see what happens. In the meantime, I think I shall go back to using Photoshop for that particular task. Shame.

I cannot get the panorama to work on the pictures from my IQ4 achromatic. I guess it is the same issue or answer, but it is a pity I must say. After all, it is a Phase One camera.
