Locking Images after Edit
ImplementedIt would be nice to be able to lock images after editing has been completed ("final version") so as to avoid accidentally applying another edit (which can happen very easily). It should be possible to unlock again as well, but then one does so consciously. This would make managing "final versions" a lot safer. What I do now is export them into various formats (small, large for print and screen, etc.) to make sure I still have "that" version in case I do accidentally make changes that are more difficult to roll back.

Hi Alex,
Thank you for your feedback and loyalty to Capture One - we appreciate the time you’ve taken to contribute towards the development of the software.
I have forwarded your request to implement the locking function for images after editing to our Product Management team.
Hopefully, your feedback contributes towards a future version of Capture One.
Whilst we cannot comment on future releases, we take all suggestions on board.

...I can't stress enough how hugely important a feature like this would be, particularly for anyone using C1 as a true database. I work with a lot of archives and increasingly use C1 despite some stability issues with C1's catalogs for the convenience of being able to organize and edit images in a single application.
But quite often when batch processing I inadvertently erase some edits and when I realize it much later it's often impossible to undo. A simple edit lock would already be fantastic and if there were a selectable feature that would automatically clone a locked variant if an edit is copied/applied to it that would be fantastic.2 -
Completely agree. It would be very useful.
