I have the same setup. I could connect my back as usual year ago to my old iMac running c1 12 and Catalina. it worked fine. I haven't used the set up since. Yesterday I ordered the cables and adapters to try if I can get the camera attached to my new mbp. Ive heard that it doesn't work with newer OS than Catalina. Hopefully I will be able to try it out tomorrow. let you know if it get it to work.

Dear Linus, thank you for the answer, interesting that it worked with catalina and not with Monterey (as that is the OS I'm running). I'll also be looking into some other possible fixes, please let me know here what kind of bugs you run into when running your setup with Monterey and the Thunderbolt daisychain. I dont see Monterey as being so much different than Catalina, and the Camera connects fine, it's just that when I press the shutter it lags out during the picture transfer from the back to the computer.

    Hey,
Tried today to connect the camera. it works perfect on my iMac (late 2012) c1 21,  Catalina 10.15.7 fire wire 400 to 800 adapter to thunderbolt adapter.

I also tried to connect it to my mbp (2019) c1 21,  big sur 11.6 fire wire 400 to 800 adapter to thunderbolt adapter to usb-c this did not work at all. The computer froze and short there after the screen turned black and the computer powered off. I tried this two times with same result.

Saw that there is a firmware update for the back but dont think it will make any changes. think I just need to accept that its not possible to shoot tethered to the newer computer.
