Version 22: Copying Masks Between Layers
Does anyone know how to copy a mask from one layer to another without losing an existing mask? I have two adjustment layers both with a mask and I want to combine the masks on one layer. When I copy from one layer to another, the mask on the existing layer disappears. So, I made a new empty adjustment layer and tried to copy each mask to this new layer only to have the mask first copied to the empty layer disappear. It makes no difference which one I copy first.
I could just apply the same adjustments to each layer so they look the same, but I would like to simplify the layering of the variant.
I'm running 22 Pro.
Thank you.

I tested this by creating a layer and using the radial gradient to paint a mask. I hit the new layer (+) button and right clicked on the new layer to select "Copy Mask From" to copy the mask from the first adjustment layer. Using the M key to show the mask I can switch between the two layers and see the mask on both.
What are you doing that is different?

Hi Marco. I can easily copy a mask from one layer to another, that's not a problem. The issue is if the first layer already has a mask and you copy a mask from a second layer into the first layer, then the existing mask in the first layer disappears. Now, pressing "M" when the first layer is highlighted shows only the mask from the second layer that was copied into the first layer, and the mask that was present prior to copying the mask from the second into the first layer has vanished.

Ahhh. Got it. You want the copied mask to add to any existing mask.
