C1-22 - MacBook Air M1 - Leaf Credo (Firewire) back - not detected when tethering
My studio uses a Leaf Credo Back - I previously used a 2019 MacBook Pro that connects to my Credo back via Thunderbolt 3 via a thunderbolt 3/2 adapter daisy chained to a FW 800 adapter - this works properly. I JUST purchased a M1 Mac Book Air (16GB RAM) , hoping to use it as a travel computer with C1 rather than the larger MBP. The same exact cable chain does not allow the back to be detected by C1 - when I go into System report under Firewire, I can see the Leaf back identified as an unknown device. I tried using the system with a Unibrain repeater with no luck (other than both the repeater and the back now show up in the system report). Is this a known issue with the MacBook Air? I recall that my POCP training said that a Mac Mini did not have adequate power on the bus, and I am wondering if this is also the case with the Macbook Air M1.

I did a bit more testing - and it appears that as of C1 22 (v15.0.0) support for tethering of the Leaf Credo is no longer supported (although Phase One backs are still listed).
Can someone at Capture One please Confirm?? - I did the upgrade to C22 on my Intel powered MBP and it also will not tether and the Leaf Credo is no longer listed in preferences. C1 21 on same system tethers correctly.

I think the reason may be, in part, that MacOS no longer supports Firewire. (Nor does Windows 10/11 in the latest releases) and so trying to carry forward support for some products is no longer realistic.
You may find more information in the Phase One forums.
FWIW this is mainly a User to User forum and this thread is not one that C1 staff will normally be allowed to reply to.
To ask the question directly to Capture One, use the "Submit a request" function of the Community pages and create a Support Case.

That is not accurate. Intel MBP system is on latest "Monterey" version 12.1, which still lists "Firewire" in system report and tethers correctly on Firewire under C1 21. Cannot comment on Microsoft support for Firewire on Windows 11. I did note that Leaf Credo didn't work on C1 21 on the M1 Mac book Air either (C1 21 on Intel lists "Phase One/Leaf" but on M1 it just says "Phase One" in Preferences>Camera ) - but as I stated, I can still use it with C1 21 on an Intel Mac Book Pro running the latest updated Mac OSX. (The M1 DOES still list "Firewire" in System Report but no joy in actually getting C1 to play nice with the Credo back and the M1 Mac).
