Live View not working- Canon 5d miii

My Canon 5d miii is connected to my imac on the capture 1 2022 version, the camera is connected as the settings are showing up. however when i go on live view it is all black unless i hold down the shutter release camera button. Do i need to change any settings on my camera or capture?
