Capture One 8 Tethering Issue

I have just opened Capture One Pro 8 after a few months and my Nikon won't tether. I tried different cables and USB ports...made no difference. As a last resort I downloaded Capture One 22 on a trial and hey presto.....it worked. I cant understand what's happened to my 8 software in the last few months.

Any ideas or fixes? I know you're probably thinking I should just spend £300 on CO 22 but if 8 worked well....why should I have to
