Question about handling OOC JPEGs and Metadata
Hi all,
i am hobby fotographer and not completly fine with my workflow and i hope someone can give me some advice to do the things right.
Because i tend to more and more use ooc jpeg (fujifilm) i want to simplify my workflow and just save the final jpeg (in an optimal manner including metadata). No more keeping raw files when i am done with editing. (I don't want to discuss pro and cons here)
Here a short summary, what i am doing
- Shoot Raw + Jpeg
- Import both files
- Hide raws + rate images + sync. metadata
- delete the junk
- edit raws if needed + delete jpeg
- edit jpeg (only rotate/crop im some cases) + delete raw
- add metadata
- process --> i only want to keep the final image
- synchronize my archive folder to get the final images back into C1
The thing i dont like with this process, that i have to export my imported jpeg files again, even when i haven't done editing except for metadata adds. With ~92% quality settings i never noticed a significant optical quality loss, but i think the 2nd jpeg compression leeds to an technical quality loss.
Is there an option to keep the original jpeg file quality and add the metadata?
Unfortunal "export original" doesn't add the metadata to the file... Or at least export original + getting an XMP-File including the metadata in my target folder would make me more happy.
How do you guys work with ooc jpegs and metadata?
Do you use C1 for jpeg metadata maintanance?
Is my workflow completly wiered?
