Capture One 22 not opening file in external HD's

I am / have experienced the same issues for a while and was looking here to see if there are any updates.  

I have managed a workaround.

Open a new session and when asked for the session's location place it in the external drive that you are trying to access. Call it whatever you like.  You will then be able to access the HD and all it's readable files.  A pain but works.
