Image count is different?

In my catalog I have an All Images count.
In the browser I have another count. 

Which is correct? 

I want to move the images from this catalog and into another - how can I be sure that I've moved ALL of the images??

There are no filters switched on or anything like that.

    No problem. For instance for some pictures you make a lot of variants,for example B&W.

    All images count all pictures and all the variants.

    In the browster you can hide or show the variants,so you can have the count of only the pictures,or the two,pictures +variants which give you the same count as All Images.

     

    NB if you rename the  images, only pictures are renamed with a new count
