Capture One LIVE feedback and suggestions
ImplementedHi! Let me first thank you for the new LIVE functionality! This will have a great and positive effect on my workflow, especially simplifying how clients can make a final selection from my first round of culling. I tested this for the first time today with a client, and I have some feedback and comments after that:
1) Watermarks!! I know everyone says you should trust your clients, but clients are just people, whether it’s a company with 5 or 50.000 employees, so errors and misunderstandings do happen. After sharing my selection online to a client today, I had to take it down 2 minutes after they started viewing it. They were 3 people from the communications department located in different places around the country, and we had a phone meeting while viewing it. Suddenly one of them got a bright idea and said he had already started downloading images, as he planned on posting some of them online later today (even though the contract clearly states that only finals can be used, and no preview images should be downloaded or used). Their naïve reply when I explained that they couldn’t do this was “But they look so good, and it would be perfect if we could just start using them right away”. I immediately turned off the sharing, and made the images available through my website solution instead (with watermarks). I see that you have watermarking functionality on the list for LIVE already, and I hope it doesn’t take too long before we can start using it.
2) Sorting. After sharing online, the sorting of images in the browser was backwards, and not in regular sorting order (I rename all my images with a jobname plus a sequence number at the end). When I initially started sharing, image number 001 appeared last in the web browser, and the one with the highest number was first. Then I added four more images at a later stage, and those four appeared on top, even though they should have been spread around the gallery if sorted correctly by their filenames. Almost every one of my clients wants to see images in shooting order since they are grouped, so I hope sorting will be an option for the client when viewing it, or at least have the gallery sorted ascending by filename as default.
3) Rating. In the online browser gallery, you can use the numerical keys 1-5 on the keyboard to rate images, but 0 doesn't work. Why?
4) Title/logo. It would be great if you could have set a title or use an image logo to appear on the online gallery. When I created the gallery, I just moved the images I wanted the client to see to the “Selects Folder”, and selects was also the title of the album online. Hopefully this will be user changeable.
Best regards,

Official comment
Hi Eivind,
I have forwarded your feedback to our Product Management team as something to consider in a future release.
Though we cannot comment on future releases and the features to be added, we recommend keeping an eye on this article to stay up to date with new features and improvements.
And thank you for your informative comment on Capture One Live - we appreciate the time you’ve taken to contribute to the development of the software. -
The sorting and watermarking features are also very important to me. Please add these!

Capture One Live is a nice feature and sharing for two weeks is a nice addition.
However the interaction with the client could be improved: if the distant viewer interacts with the shared album, no email is sent by CO and we have the "refresh" the shared album to see if anything happened.
So if the client is not aware that he/she has to alert the photograph about the changes, some time could be wasted and some misunderstandings could occur.0
