importing XMP Metadata

Hi, I have copyright meta data in an XMP file, how do I load this into Capture One? Is it as a sidecar file?

  Rather than having fellow users trying to guess,  I think you should elaborate on how you intend to use the copyright info from the XMP file.

  Yes but where do I put the sidecar XML so c1 sees it!!??
