Is it normal that the crop tool has a fixed size of 2048 px not editable?

    The crop tool size is oriened by your currently selected export recipe.

    problem solved.
    (it still seems to me an inconceivable thing automatically tie the cutout of the image to a future export ...)

    It shows you what you are going to get if you use the currently selected recipe. If you want to see the actual pixel dimensions, make sure current recipe is one that scales at 100% rather than a fixed dimension.

    Click and hold or right click on the crop tool cursor at the top of the screen.  From there you can set the dimensions (4x5, 16x9 etc.) or custom or to Output which will set the crop to the selected output recipe.
