Windows C1 catalog inusable
I don,t know about the Mac version but often when I move pictures from the In Catalog folder to my pictures folder it moves the pictures but the reference doesn't follow and it sticks to the In Catalog until I move it somewhere lese then back again.
Also a lot of the pictures keeps disappearing from the catalog and even the synchronise fonction is unable to redetect everything.
I decided to use sessions instead, which I don,t like due to the lack of smart albums and the CaptureOne folders being created everywhere without the option of having it hidden by default.
I kind of regret having paid for the Pro version. I didn't have those problem with the Sony Express version...

Many users have been confused by the way catalogs work. V22 may of course have a bug, and I wouldn't know as I am still on v20. Generally though, images are normally not lost. It is more common that a user forces them out of sight by not operating the catalog according to what the user really wants. If you care to share details on what you actually do, some experienced catalog user may chime in to help (I don't use catalogs).

My Capture One Pro v20 sessions can have smart albums. I can click the + sign to the right of the Session Albums to get a little menu with options: Folder, Album and Smart Album. Once named and created, I can add filter statements to define the smartness.

Those housekeeping CaptureOne folders do annoy some users. I generally never see them because I don't work in or via the "system folders" unless I am doing system related work, and then I always want to see all the facts anway. For image work I connect image folders (other than Capture) to Session Favorites.

I know, it's only the reference that gets corrupted. I like to have all my photo on a separate drive and keep the catalog and cache on a faster SSD drive. Everything is setup in categorized folders so it's easy to find outside of C1 as well.
Maybe my problem is I use C1 as a photo manager as well as a RAW developing software.
I deleted the catalog and re-imported everything again. We'll see if it holds.
As for the the smart albums in sessions it only works if you keep the photos in the sessions folders.

Well, I do the same, but I have no issues with sessions regardless of image file locations.

Many Capture One users do exactly that. Moving the cheese using tools other than Capture One (using Windows Explorer or Finder on a Mac) seems to trip them up now and then, though.

My v20 includes the "Session Favorites" folders. They can be anywhere on my disk, meaning outside the session hierarchy. Your version of Capture One may be different (but I kind of doubt that).
