Capture One & R5 in low light

    You didn't specify if you are looking at a RAW image or JPG.  Adjusting tones in JPG is going to be more problematic and it might be that the DDPP is giving the similar results of the JPG from the camera settings.

    Just telling us that the skin tone is "bad" isn't going to help troubleshoot the problem, Tino.

    More details, an example image, and maybe access to a Raw file, is the way to go here.

    and I can't belive I'm saying that, but in lightroom the skintone looks better out of the box

    Not sure why - LightRoom does a lot of things better than Capture One.

    Including getting colours right.
