Indeed, not all of us have 4k screens yet, this I guess is where this change is headed, but it was a step back in usability. I'd prefer the old, small icons too.

An Update on this after I started up an older version and compared the icons, got told you can make the new ones smaller by choosing "icon only" and spend some time getting a feel for it. I get that there is the wish to match the icons for iPad and Desktop. However, the new Icons are still bigger, while much harder to distinct them than the old icons. So there is good reason for that text because it's faster to read the text than the icon and that shouldn't be the case. The old Icons were self speaking. Lens correction was a lens, details was a magnifying glass, Styles was Clipboard. Now there are mainly circles that on a quick look are very alike. Yes we will eventually get used to it any yes the new Icons look fancy. But by principle will not work as good as the old icon set and the fine lines don't really match the rest of the UI (please don't change the other UI to that ;) ). So this is not just the typical "I don't like change" rant. CaptureOne always was focused on Productivity. Please don't sacrifice usability of the desktop version for designs sake of the tablet version. If touchscreen and graphics screens have different needs then so be it, then let them be different.

Well, my comment was with the labels disabled; The old ones just are much better and indeed, I do hope the other icons aren't going this way...

I noticed that the new tool tab icons are slightly bigger than the old ones (in "icons only" mode) as well.

In combination with a bigger font (font size was increased quite a while ago) and the fact that the "+/-" (layer addition / removal) icons moved to their own dedicated row in the "Layers" tool, the change eats away at vertical space available for (expanded) tools.

FWIW, I like that new icons are less contrasty, but agree they appear to be less self-explanatory than the old ones.

Each update adds some nice features (HDR, Live) but this one made the UI worst.. please, C1 revert to the nice and small icons. The new ones are not only ugly but also bigger and less meaningful..
