Panorama stitching working with edited photos ... yes/no
I really like the panorama function. The other day I was on a gravel road setting up for some panorama photos and a logging truck passed by....I forgot to clean the lens. All 4 photos had the same spots on them.... so I used the Healing Mask to get rid of all the spots on one photo .... copied that to the other photos and it worked. Correction: Just tried it on another photo and it didn't work so I removed the feature request.
Thanks for your input

I made the same global adjustments to all the images to be stitched and found that they came out in the dng pano file, complete with those adjustments reflected in the Tools. But they were global adjustments, not masked, and exactly the same in each image.
However, I think using any mask means its relative position in the dng file is different from the source images, so understandably, that's going to stuff things up.
Similarly, it also ignores any cropping or straightening you might do with the source images.
Didn't get a chance to respond to this post earlier and note that you've now submitted it as a Feature Request and added my vote to it anyway. Nevertheless, it would be good if they can make it so adjustments and cropping in the source images are recognised, but I suspect you may end up just having remember to leave making such adjustments for dng file.0 -
In my case the mask was the same in all the photos. That would be the only way it would work. I had about 20 dust spots that were easily removed and over 4 photos that became 80 dust spots that were in the same position in each photo. Obviously cropping and straightening wouldn't work in panorama stitching.
Thanks for your response and vote

No worries.
Yes, I understand how you only had to do the dust removal in one image and copy it to the others, which is a lot easier than having to remove the 80 spots in the dng pano file.
Sometimes the original images may not be straight or not aligned properly and the stitching either won't work or creates a wonky result, but with jpegs I have straightened and cropped the original images and successfully stitched them in Affinity. It would be good if you could do that with raw files in Capture One.0 -
It was just an idea I thought I would put out there. I can just save the edited photos to a tiff file and use Affinity Photo to stitch it to a panorama.
I use a nodal rail when taking panoramic photos so I haven't had the issue of photos not aligning
Thanks for the back and forth
Have a great day

One more thing I didn't think to mention, instead of trying to remove 80 dust spots one by one, try Luminar Neo.
The dust removal is just one click and it finds and removes all dust spots. I haven't tried this tool yet, but download a trial and see.
I don't use it as my primary editor, but it's inexpensive and also has many other useful features, such as power line removal, sky replacement, adding sunrays and fog, and the detail/sharpening tool with it's 3 levels works really well.0 -
I removed the feature request. It worked on one set of photos but didn't do well on others. The sky was a consistent color on the first set so that is why it worked.
I usually don't use sky replacement photos because I like natural photos but when I do I have a whole set of my own sky photos that can be used in Affinity Photo.
Affinity Photo is also really good at photo stacking and it would be really cool if that could be added to Capture One.
I also use Topaz Labs for a lot of final work done to photos.
Have a great day
