Annotations Not Remaining In Place

I've been annotating where I'd like to remove some objects (i.e. electrical outlets, door stops, etc). I annotate particular objects in one image and then move on to the next image. I go back to the image I just worked on and the annotation has moved as though it is confused about where I made the annotations on the image I just changed from and what was originally on the image. Is anyone else having this issue? I have 32 gb of ram and am running on Monterrey, so I'm running smoothly with everything else.
