Capture One Pro 12 'No unique images in folder' when trying to import RAW files. What does this mean?

My bold guess is that it means exactly what it says. Many users do not want to import the same image file twice or more and tick the Exclude Duplicates box.

You (should already) know that digital cameras re-use filenames, are you trying to import new images that happen to share their filenames with images imported in the past?

    Hi OddS,

Thank you for your help and identifying my issue as a user error lol, I feel like a complete idiot, I had no idea that digital cameras re-use filenames. It's now importing again, but I'm having to upgrade anyway because I recently changed to the Canon R6 which I also only realised yesterday isn't supported by CO12.

I'm not tech minded, my usual approach is, if it's doing what I need it to do, don't change it, hence why I hadn't yet upgraded from CO12.

    Thanks again

The longest possible sequence of camera unique filenames is dictated by the 4 digit number, it can go 0000,0001,..,9998, 9999, 0000 (10000 files). Depending on camera settings and user actions the camera count cycle may be reset/restarted, thus re-using filenames.
