Original vs Unconstrained

When I open a new image the crop defaults to "Original". I'm quite certain in the previous versions it came as "Unconstrained" which is always how I work. 

Can I change the default setting?

  Yes Jill, you can change the settings in the preferences of Capture One, "crop" tab, choose between "Use global aspect ratio" and "use variant aspect ratio".
