Awful colour rendition of Nikon Z6 RAW files. Over saturated, over contrasted and totally unrealistic blues and greens.
I've been aware of this issue ever since I bought my Z6 a few years ago but have worked around it now for far too long. Why are the Z6 files so ridiculously oversaturated? I can fix this issue a little by selecting Neutral or Flat within the Nikon profiles, but then the colour rendition has other issues: for instance the blues become way more purple and the greens are far too blue. In general I am just seriously disappointed with the way Capture one is over processing the Nikon RAW files before I even get chance to create my own desired effect. Winding down saturation and correcting colour on each file before I even get started just ends up giving me weird results once I create an image style I would normally be happy with. I'm not a fan of Lightroom's messy interface, but right now with my Z6 the files look so much better there that I find myself seriously considering switching over.
Is this an issue just for me or it a known issue with the Z range and Capture One 22? My old D7200 never had these issues, the RAW files were rendered soft and neutral allowing me to have more control over processing, yielding much more realistic results.
I know saturation and colour are a matter of personal taste, but what I know for sure is that Capture One completely butchers my files when compared to back of camera, Lightroom or even just previewing in the finder of my Mac.
Any help would be appreciated, but mostly I'm making this post out of pure frustration at Capture One. I really don't want to have to 'fix' my files before I even get started every time I import a new session.
