ALL shots missing from a collection

I am a new user, please excuse my lack of knowledge. I took some shots over a few days tethered. Quit the program. Re-stated this morning to get a few more shots and start post. Unfortunately my collection is empty except the few photos I took this morning, I feel they must be there somewhere and I am somehow doing it wring due to ignorance. Any help where to look is appreciated.
