What file format, raw, jpg, tif...?

If it is not raw then check your preference settings > Image > Enable JPG Editing etc.

The files are in Raw format (.ARW) :/

Do you have the PRO version for all camera brands, or a Sony version?

Is you specific Sony camera supported by your C1 version?

I have the All camera brands version and i never had this issue before, i developped thousands of photos during last month without any problem (not this one at least)...

I tried to remove and replace a raw file that is "read only" for C1, to see if it works but no...

I'm not working tetherd here, I'm working on a collection of a lot of images (11k + => that is not the problem I think, I've already worked with more photos in one collection)

Same camera model or an older one?

Better to request support using the link on top of this page.

Was this problem solved? I have the same issue with Capture One 22. It never happened before, I use the same camera and the same computer. ARW files are all present and I can export them all but not edit those which show the eye symbol.

The eye icon means view only (read only).

Ok, but why are some pictures read only (not on the file system), and other from the same capture are not? How can the permission changed?

Have you done an OS update? Do you need to grant Capture One permission on a storage device or folder(s)?

I just had a funny reason for read-only: file names were so long that while Capture One could access the original files, paths for auxiliary files would exceed 255 characters if created, so C1P refused to make them and considered the files uneditable instead.

Im my case the problem seem to come from tethered shooting with burst. Export/Import helped.

    We had the same issue:

    View Only icon

IQ3 100 shot tethered into Capture One 23 Pro Version 16.2.5, Win 11 64 bit
4 out of 156 images had randomly the "View Only" status

Some random images have the tiny eye icon / eye symbol. They show up fine but can´t be exported, no variants possible, can´t be marked

    SOLUTION:
We created copies with the operating system (Windows). These copies are not treated as "View only" files and work fine. Copies within CaptureOne are still "view only"

Ah, yes. Import after an Export did also not work at the beginning. I remember that I have copied the files to another place once. Finally it has worked.
