Also, I can't see a way to apply style brushes to a layer only. This should be possible.

We need additional/better Mask selection tools

    I don't.

You speak for yourself, not the community. Personally I consider Capture One's masking to be more than adequate for a RAW converter.

the masking in LR is incredible, hard to not call it game changing. I see similar features coming in other raw converters, I am sure C1 is not far behind. anyone who has not used it should play with it, its not just the masking but the combination of different masks and adding and subtracting. and with the latest update all masks can be copied and pasted to a whole shoot, LR calculates new masks for each frame.

Yes I agree, Paul, C1 will likely (hopefully!) catch up soon.  They'll need to in order to keep their subscription base happy, the improvements to LR can't be ignored. I'd always put C1 somewhere between LR & PS in terms of functionality, but now LR is a lot closer to C1.

I'm currently paying for both subscriptions (PS/LR and C1), and the single subscription to get LR and PS is 33% cheaper than the C1 subs. It was worth paying for both when C1 was drastically different/better than LR but now I'm thinking not so much.  I need to have more of a play with LR

Oh my god, you're so insufferable. You're the scourge of these forums.

In my experience the auto masking of c1 has become worse than it was in earlier versions. Means: It would be great if it could be much more sensitive on one side and much lesser sensitive on the other end of the "sensitivity" spectrum.

Agree. Love the intersect mask feature in LR as well as subject selection. Makes things easy. I was able to put a gradient behind a subject using this feature by selecting subject and then subtracting that from the gradient. Way more work to do that in C1. Also need to be able to keep the uniformity sliders when editing skin in a separate mask. All of the color stuff is still sort of muddled.

I'm not familiar with LR anymore. Is the new intersect mask similar to a clipping mask in PS? Either way I would love to see a clipping mask feature in C1.
