Issues since updating to version 15.4

I can't be of much help, because I don't work with sessions, and hardly have any performance issues. Especially since I upgraded to 32GB RAM.
I understand that these issues are new and got introduced with version 15.4?
What are your basic computer spec's? processor, graphics card, memory & HD type?

    Thanks for your reply.

I apologize if in my previous post I gave the impression that I use sessions. I do not. I import images into a folder, then place images into a catalog's user collection.

Now that you ask me to confirm that the issues all arose with ver. 15.4, I think I have to take back that claim since I recall feeling hopeful when 15.4 came along that the issues would be resolved. I don't think I can accurately report when the issues arose.

Specific to the vanishing color editor tool, only since 15.4 have I identified the advanced option as correlated with the tool's disappearance. But now that I think about it, I had similar issues - vanishing tools - months ago, issues I *thought* were caused by some form of corruption in a custom tool bar. When I created a new custom tool bar, all issues disappeared... until this advanced color editor variation.

A bit of additional on the color editor tool. Sometimes the tool does NOT disappear after I select the advanced editor. But almost every time I select the advanced editor, I have to pull the color editor tool out of its custom tool tab, which makes it usable. But when I drag it back into its tab, the tool again won't expand when I click it. I have to pull it out. If when I drag it out of the I choose the Basic or Skin Tone editor, I can drag it back into the tool tab and click to open the tool while it's still in the menu.

    Am I making sense?!

I've done some more testing and the results are not consistent. I can't get the color editor tool to be a problem with any specific set/number of tools in a menu. It seems to happen only in custom tool tabs, but I'm not sure of that anymore!  On one custom tool tab, once there are 16 or more tools in a custom tool tab, the color editor fails as reported. If there are 15 or fewer tools in the tab, all is well. But I tried the same test with a different custom tool tab and did not have a problem!

    VERY odd.

As for my PC specs, I have an AMD Ryzen 7-2700 CPU with 32GB RAM and a Radeon RX 580 graphics card with 8GB of RAM on a Windows 10 PC. I run CO as installed on a 1TB M.2 NVME SSD.

I'm sorry I can't make more sense at the moment.

Thanks Bill for clarifying. What you describe about the vanishing tools is not what I have ever seen.
I compared your hardware to mine (Intel 9750H, NVidia GTX1660TI, 32GB, 1TB SSD M2 NVME) and thoses are not too different in performane.
When was the last time you updated your video driver?
