Can’t copy local adjustments using C1 8 image engine

Hi there. I am using a Nikon Z9 with a Mac m1 max laptop. I use capture one 8 image processing engine because so many of my styles were developed on this, and because I cannot feasibly use the luma corrected “contrast” tool which was implemented in subsequent versions. All the way up to the C1 22 I have never had an issue copying local adjustments, but I now get an error that says I need to upgrade the image engine of the target image when trying to copy the adjustments to it. This happens when copying from one variant to another both with the C1 8 engine. This happens even if the adjustment layer is empty. Obviously this should be possible and this is now creating serious problems with my workflow. Hope someone might be able to help. Thanks for the otherwise great software.
