Importing photos from Nikon Z5

I have just started using Capture One 2023 and find that an annoying problem is still there. The program is not able to import  photos from my Nikon Z5 when it is connected via USB, so it is necessary to insert the card. In the manual it is still stated: ´Note that you can also import images from a connected camera if it supports the Mass storage protocol. Not all cameras support this feature, but some Nikon models do.´ Why is this deviation from a protocol a problem for Capture One? Bridge can manage to import in this way without any fuss, Photoshop Lightroom too, as well as ON1 Photo Raw. Capture One should be able to do the same.
