Adjustments made in session don't import into referenced catalog
Summary: Imported Capture folder has .dng images and subfolder CaptureOne with subfolder Settings153 containing a file xxx.cos (which I think is the adjustments for image xxx.dng). This file contains what looks like a crop adjustment:

I did make a crop adjustment in the session. But there's no crop in the image that is imported to the catalog ... it's the original image. The import dialog specifies Include Subfolders and Include Existing Adjustments.

Hi Bill,
When you import a picture in your catalogue, the adjustments made in the session are not imported, as they are stored in the auxiliary file .cos. The best way to import pictures AND ajustments in your catalogue is to import the whole session into your catalogue.

Thanks for responding. I have notes from a few years back saying to not import a session because that brings in a lot of unnecessary files.
If the behavior you describe is true, then I don't see the point of the Import Existing Adjustments option. The adjustment files are in a folder created and named by C1: <images>/CaptureOne/*.cos
For what it's worth, my use case is grabbing photos and editing them on the road with a laptop computer, then integrating the edited photos into a desktop computer's catalog when I get home.

I do something similar to what Robert suggested, except that I use a managed catalog rather than a session. The managed catalog is used on the road; a referenced catalog is on my main machine. On the road I do keywoding, adjustments, etc. when I’m ready, I import the managed catalog and then (within Capture One) move the images to whatever referenced location I need them. Works like a charm, incorporating everything I did on the road. You might give this a try.

I have to say that I think that Robert Fahri is mistaken on this occasion. I frequently import from sessions to my master catalog. I don't import the whole session, because I don't want the images in the Capture folder to be added - only the images in the Selects and Output folders.
My method is to choose the Import button in the catalog, then choose the source as the Selects (or Output) folder of the session. I make sure that Import To is set to Add to Catalog (this means that the images remain in the same folder, without being copied into the catalog) and that the Include Existing Adjustments option is selected. Works every time.
It is true that in a session the adjustments are stored in the .cos files, in subfolders of the image folder. In a catalog they are stored inside the catalog database. But if Include Existing Adjustments is selected, the information is copied from those subfolders into the database.
So although you can do as Robert suggests and import the whoel session, there is no need to.
If the process I have mentioned does not work for you, perhaps you could share some screenshots of your import dialog and we can see whether we can spot a reason for that.

You are right Ian, what you says in your first two paragraphs is exactly what I do : importing only the selected pictures of the session. Sorry for expressing myself badly.

Root of my problem: mismatched C1 versions. The laptop sessions had been created with a later version than the desktop C1 (target catalog). Updating the desktop C1 and importing images again (with Include Existing Adjustments checked) worked as expected.
I discovered the mismatch by trying to import a session; there was an explanatory message behind a "Preparing Session Import" message that never disappeared.
