Working on a Session that is already in Catalog
I'm a bit confused here. I have a catalog where the images are on an external drive, but the catalog file is on my laptop. In the catalog are all my completed sessions (which are on the external drive). I now want to edit an image in a session (that is already in the catalog), I have opened the session and edited the photo with the external drive plugged in. Do I now just synchronise the session in the catalog? (Think I have answered my own question.). I suppose this is the best way if you have to edit after cataloging sessions?

Do all your editing in the session before you import it into a catalog. Once it is in the catalog any editing changes you make will not be synced to the session. Think of the catalog with sessions as an archive catalog of sessions.

Thanks - yes that is what I normally do - but every now and then I need a photo to re-edit that's in the catalog. Hence I opened the session by clicking on the cosession.db file on the external drive. I then edited the image in this session and afterwards synched the session. Seemed to do the trick. (Except now my other backup drive needs synching also.)

Hi Carl
but every now and then I need a photo to re-edit that's in the catalog. Hence I opened the session by clicking on the cosession.db file on the external drive
Question: why not just do the follow-up editing in the catalogue? Much less work and the same result.
