Message: Autoloaded xxx out of xxx sets of metadata
I've been organizing my library and have just started getting a message that C1 is autoloading metadata. It's currently showing "Autoloaded 1452 out of 73,941 sets of metadata--About 103 hours left.
What's going on?
I'm running Capture One 22 Pro (15.1.0.123)
Thanks for any insight.

What is your setting in this item in the Image section of Preferences?
Is it by any chance set to Full Sync?

Auto Sync Sidecar XMP is set to "Load"

So if you have not synced metadata before, it will sync it for all those images. (Full Sync is worse, because it continually checks for unsynced metadata, which tends to slow the system down terribly.)
You could turn it to None, as shown in my screen shot. Then if you need to sync metadata for any particular set of images you could select just those images then choose Load Metadata or Sync Metadata from the Image menu. You need to pay attention to the check boxes in my screen shot if you have other apps that may also be writing metadata for the images to XMP files.

I don't recall exactly, but I think I recently changed that setting because I want to insure that any metadata added during processing by Photo Mechanic (e.g., rating) gets passed to C1.

Thank you!

So in your situation, I think I would import the images that have been rated in PM, then do as I suggested and use the Image menu to Load that metadata fro those images, but otherwise leave the setting to None.
