Oh, I did also do the usual with reboots and reloading software to no avail, and this has been going on for multiple editing sessions across many days now. Thanks!

What version of MacOS are you on? Have you updated to Ventura, which may not work with Capture One 20?

I am on Ventura version, yes.

I changed back and forth to different workspaces but when I return to my saved and preferred one the error persists...

    Any other thoughts? Thanks!

It may well be that version 20 won't work properly (or at all) with Ventura. The latest MacOS version that is officially supported for Capture One 20 is Big Sur version 11.1.0.

Sorry for my delayed update, I have had a chance to try other workspaces and they all have intermittent error  sometimes permanent errors...  even stock workspaces.  I can't expand and contract all tools, can't select items within those tools sometimes.  If I float the cursor over the photo and back to the tools they will sometimes but not always start working.

I also tried rebuilding the workspace from scratch with no progress.

Any options besides updating the software?  I'm disappointed that I missed some black friday pricing and now they have indicated no further updates after a certain date...

    Thanks for any suggestions!

You could try a 30 day trial of the latest version and see whether that is OK for you - there's no need to commit yourself to it before you discover whether it works for you. But a warning - if you try version 23, be sure to do it on a new catalog or session, because it would update old catalogs and sessions to version 23 and then you wouldn't be able to open them with version 20 if you decided not to proceed.

I paid hundreds of dollars for a "lifetime" license... but apparently with no refund I no longer have a working product unless I pay more?

Why should I feel anything other than disappointed/cheated?  I don't want new features, I want the working software that I paid for!
