Bugs: Setting Curve migrates to other images when Viewer is off. Thumbnails not redrawn.
I'm seeing some bizarre behaviour from Capture One 23 - just installed. I think it's unusable until it's fixed. Will the team look at this and check, or do I have to submit a support ticket?
In summary, after changing the curve setting on one image, with it being the only selected image, and with edit selected off - the setting gets applied to every subsequent image I happen to click on. This behaviour seems to be triggered by turning off the viewer. In addition, thumbnails are not redrawn at anytime after first drawing.
Steps to reproduce below.
Restart my machine.
Create new catalog.
Import images (15 .RAF in my case).
Choose “All Images”
Allow previews to generate.
Turn off viewer with G key (for me) - alternatively use menu option View / Viewer.
“Edit Selected” is off.
Select first image.
Change Curve to “Fujifilm ACROS” in Base Characteristics
--> Thumbnail is not redrawn – bug!
Select second image/
Turn viewer on with G key
--> Viewer shows this image as ACROS!
--> Fujifilm ACROS is shown as the Curve!
--> Thumbnail has not been redrawn, shows as colour!
With viewer still on, select third image
--> Now this has been set to ACROS!
Change curve to Fujifilm SEPIA
Select all images
Hold shift and apply immediately to all selected using the tool’s adjust clipboard arrow
--> No thumbnails redrawn!
Deselect all images
Select first image – it shows as sepia in the viewer – expected.
Change curve to ACROS – preview updates correctly
Select second image – it is still SEPIA – correct.
Seems to me these settings are being applied, even if not drawn correctly. Exposure change doesn't exhibit this behaviour. I haven't wasted my time trying other settings.

The G key selects the linear gradient tool by default.
Did you change that?0 -
Can't remember. Menu option View/Viewer then instead. The behaviour did not reproduce for you?

I use dual screens with the viewer on one monitor and the tools and permanent grid display on the other and the problem does not happen with that setup even if I close the viewer.
Switching to default workspace on a single monitor I am definitely seeing the problem you are.
Once the viewer is gone anything clicked on in grid view is being assigned whatever film curve is displayed back in the base characteristics tool.0 -
Thank you for confirming and adding your findings. I have submitted a support request including your information.
