How to speed up work in catalog mode???
The work of the catalog with large volumes of photos is terrible in the program. My collections are stored on 5 hard drives of 4 Tb with 100,000 photos each, and the program has been cataloging for the third day already. The every catalog occupies more then 20 gigabytes. And this is only a 640 pixel preview and not copying, but adding.
In my opinion, this is a big flaw for those who need all the photos to be in the catalog.
There is still for the company to work and things to improve.
it will be funny if the company takes money to fix the work with the catalog and as for an update )))

this is not normal, the program is positioned as a cataloger and editor. And the first one works terribly..

Capture One is indeed bad at handling larger catalogues, a flaw that the company has so far largely ignored.

I am extremely disappointed. I never waited for the creation of catalogs ... I didn’t have enough nerves. Deleted without waiting. I decided to use Lightroom as a catalog. And when I want to edit one photo, then C1 starts loading a session from all the photos in the day session. ???? NOT one, but 1200??? Why? I like to edit photos from my history. I go through the catalog and look for what I will do today. And here is the problem. The Lightroom catalog also failed to load. Writes that it is in use and cannot be loaded. From the Program, from which I expected the simplification of processes, I got a headache. With beautiful color output. But not what I expected from her.

Until Capture One improves the handling of catalogues, which may be far off still, this new program may be a good supplement: https://cyme.io/peakto-photo-organizer-software/
It works as a general catalogue for multiple catalogues of various formats, including Lightroom and Capture One.

Sorry - but if it won't get any better during the next updates I'll also quit. I have the feeling that there was no progress last year.

If you read the release notes they have made a few improvements in catalogs over the last few years. Also if you have auto syncing of metadata that is a performance killer. Turn it off.

I haven't noticed any performance improvements. Do you remember which updates contained improvements?
