For the love of human kind, make a Photoshop plugin
Look, capture one is a great raw processor. However, we all (including C1 developers) KNOW that C1 is no match for photoshop, nor is it designed to be. So WHY can I not export a DNG from C1 and open it in photoshop as a smart object? How amazing would it be to click that beguiling little icon on your base layer and up pops - not camera raw - CAPTURE ONE CONTROLS. Yeah, that’d be amazing. Wanna bring out those shadows and fine tune the raw base level sharpening without doing all your masking and layer adjustments all over again? OMG NO PROBLEM!!! You can now!!!
I cannot understand why you guys don’t just play nice with Lightroom and photoshop. People are noting going to jump ship from either program. Your cataloguing / organization is trash compared to Lightroom. Every photographer — EVERY photographer I know shares this sentiment. We all agree capture one raw processing is superior, but the organizational aspect is so inferior and the workflow is so inflexible that I refuse to use it unless the file really needs it. Don’t do this to us. Just make a plug-in.
Also, make DNGs play seamlessly too — when I open a DNG in someone else’s C1, it does not carry the adjustments to A new C1 catalog. What the fuck is that? Come on. Adobe has no problem with this. Be the bigger guy— call adobe, she’d some collaborative tears, and work together like we learned in kindergarten.
Love,
Enraged, raw-processed asshole
