C1 23 Internet connection

I own the perpetual licence . My question : will  C1 23 be fully functional without an internet connection . The system complains in that case that there is no connection to the activation server - how does that matter ?

    AFAIK v23 Perpetual only needs to be online to be initially activated.
    After that a net connection seems not to be required although it's possible
    I guess that a C1 "call home" clock is ticking away in the software.

    You need to be online in order to activate a perpetual license. You don't need to be online in order to use it.
