Loyality Program for Perpetual Users - Workflow in Limbo
I have C1 23 but now with changes in the mist for Subscribers and Perpetual users my workflow has ground to a halt. Why?
I was planning to do some intensive work with C1 like keywording which we all know takes time. Cleaning up client files, sessions, culling etc.
This was my New Years Eve resolution during some shooting downtime but do I want to invest my time in all this work only to find out that perpetual users will be adversley affected? I know in Feb C1 will make some announcement on a "Loyality" Scheme but in a sense for me at least these what-ifs are concerning.
While others may continue to plug along regardless of what may happen, I can only wait till Feb to see what course C1 will be taking. So for the next 3 weeks I am in limbo waiting for C1?
If C1 decides that perpetual users are not first class users then I will need to invest my time and effort into another tool. C1 is a professional tool and quite frankly the roadmap should have been very clear from the get go!

As a perpetual license owner I feel set back, and I have big doubts C1 can compensate for that with the loyalty scheme.
They announced the announcement for mid of January, so, only one week limbo waiting.
But straightening your keywords and cleaning up your image repository will likely benefit you even if you migrate to another application.

Not sure how spending all my time on this will help if I purchase another tool. I doubt the keywords are cross platform compatible and I will never get my time. I will take a holding pattern until they decide whether perpetual users are worth keeping?

That's a valid concern, at least for hierachical keywords. For example, Photo Mechanic and C1 exchanging hierachical keywords via the xmp files don't harmonize well.
