C1 freezing after switching between programs
Capture One 23 - Build 16.0.1.17
I have a huge issue of my C1 needing to load/buffer (the spinning rainbow wheel of death) every single time I click outside of C1. I run a three screen setup - two monitors and the laptop. Chrome on one monitor, C1 on the other and email/teams on the laptop. Literally every single time I go into a different program, and back to C1, it freezes for a minute or two. It's not even about making changes, just clicking outside the window, and then back.
Restarting the computer fixes the issue for a short while, but then it comes back.
I have a brand new MacBook Pro (13-inch, M2, 2022). 24 GB RAM and 1TB storage. Running MacOS Monterey - 12.5.1
Storage is nowhere near full, and I dont have other programs running than Chrome, teams, C1 and Photoshop.
ANY suggestions or solutions?

I've had and still have similar issues with Capture One, including unresponsiveness when switching between Capture One and other applications, also on an Apple silicon Mac (MBP M1 Max 64GB, macOS 13.1). See this thread.
I've been in contact with support about it for 6 months. They claim not to be able to reproduce it and that they're still looking into it (which I have yet to see any indication of). If you contact support about this, you can give them the number of my support ticket so that they can see you're not the only one with this issue (it's ticket #147215 – perhaps a good idea to add that this ticket has been merged with an unrelated ticket, and this issue is with general unresponsiveness, not unresponsiveness specific to searching and filtering).

By the way, do you use a catalogue, and if so, how big is it?

It appears that the latest release of MacOS Monterey is 12.6.3, released just yesterday.
Also the latest release of Capture One 23 is 16.0.2, released last week.
It may be worth updating both and seeing whether the problems persist. (Although the latest release notes for Capture One 23 release 16.0.2 say it supports Monterey up to 12.6.1 - obviously it predated 12.6.3. To be ultra-cautious you might see if you can update Monterey to 12.6.1 only.)

Thanks for the feedback Thomas!
I do not work in catalogues, only in sessions. And it's in every session, no matter the size.Might look into trying to update both then, Ian! Thanks!

Tried updating both, it didn't help at all. It didn't get worse, but it didn't help.

Have you tried the "Open using Rosetta" option? I've found that unresponsiveness is less severe with this setting (presumably because Capture One isn't fully optimized for Apple silicon).

I have not. Will try that and see how it works. Thank you!

Tried opening using Rosetta, and it did not have any effect. Still freezing everytime I click outside C1

Have you heard from support about it?
