Draw Healing Mask constantly CRASHES MacOS

Using 5-6 times the healing tool, on small areas or spots, makes the computer to crash, have to restart the whole system and start again. I leave a reasonable time between one correction and next. Since I work on scanned film negatives, small dots or marks are the common situation.

  Files are 4800 x 3200 px, always DNG... Originals are color negatives, made positive by inverting levels...

  Well I think you asked for size in pixels, those are around 100 MB...

  Yes, I always scan as DNG, with Plus Ten OptikFilm 8200i scanner. 

  With DNG or other RAW (NEF) files from digital cameras didn't have any problem, but it's true I hardly use healing mask with those. And no idea how to look at the log files...!!!

  Maybe I will try lighter file size and see what happens. It is true my Mac comes back from 2015, with 16GB memory.
