A Pen Tool would be a huge help in creating masks. I'll even move back to a subscription for this one new feature...

    The pen tool uses several anchor points to create a vector shape, or in this case a mask. This is different from the brush tool as it gives retouchers much more control over creating a very precise mask.  The brush tool is great for organic shapes, while the pen tool is perfect for selecting hard edges on walls, floors, isolating objets and etc.
