Assistance with wireless setup from Canon 5D Mark III
I’m a long time C-1 user and former Phase One camera user and I’m having a heck of a time establishing a wireless connection from my Canon camera to my MacPro running Capture One.
Here’s the specifics: The camera is a Canon 5D Mark III (current firmware) with a WFT-E7A transmitter (also current firmware). The MacBook is running Monterey OS 12.6.3. I want a communication method using a router - beginning with my office router, and then once I’m successful, switch over to a dedicated battery powered router to take on location.
I’ve had this connection in the past, but am unable to make the connection now. I’ve read the manuals and endless Google articles and YouTube videos, and I cannot get specific instruction for my camera and computer setup.
Here’s where I’ve gone so far in camera/WFT settings: Menu > Communication Settings> Network Setting > Connection Wizard > WFT Server > Wireless > Connect with Wizard > Wireless Network=(my office WiFi )> Enter 8-63 ASCII characters > (5 hidden characters are displayed -??) > (Message “Incorrect wireless LAN encryption key”. Somewhere along this path, I’ve lost my way.
I understand that I need to set up my MacBook as a an FTP server and I need help with that. Finally, I need to set Capture one to receive files from a Watched Folder.
I would be incredibly grateful for assistance in getting things working!
