Deleting Keywords from Keyword Library and C1 crashes
I am moving over from LR Classic and as part of my migration process, I am reviewing and updating my keyword library. I have imported my LrClassic Keyword Structure (hierarchical) and I am now in the process of removing keywords from a selection of keywords.
Upon completion of the removal of the keywords, I go the Keyword Library listing and right-click to delete the keyword from the list. At this point, my C1 starts getting the spinning beach ball and the application crashes.
Eventually, I got this error message but I am not sure if this is related to my desire to remove parent keywords, or not.
"attempt to write a readonly database (attempt to write a readonly database"
Has anyone experienced this before, or have an idea why I can't remove the keyword?
Thanks, Keith

Capture One always becomes unresponsive for a while when deleting keywords (at least the first time after it's been launched; deleting further keywords is quicker), but I don't think it's ever crashed here.
Have you tried verifying the catalogue?

Thanks Thomas for your assistance. I tried it again and after several minutes I was able to delete the keyword that I had selected.
I have verified the catalogue several times and while it does appear to help, I am a little surprised how 'laggy' some of the functionality appears to be when dealing with keywords.
I have over 175,000 image that have been fully 'keyworded' so maybe it is a function of dealing with many images at the same time.

Here Capture One becomes unresponsive for about 30 seconds when deleting the first keyword; with subsequent keywords there's no unresponsiveness (I assume the difference is due to data being loaded into the cache the first time). This is with a catalogue containing about 56,000 images.
Capture One's sluggish performance with larger catalogues is a common complaint. (See this summary.)

Keith, I'm curious as to why you moved from Lightroom Classic to Capture One. I've decided to move the other way - perpetual for the Mac is not really perpetual (OS updates), poor support and buggy software.
Is there something I should be concerned about with Lightroom Classic?
Thanks for your input.
Jim
