    Hi Thorsten

I had the same problem as you, but for now it is better! There are quite a lot of bottlenecks here that you must overcome.
What is your connection? 1gbe or 10 gbe or Wifi?
What is your nas setup? How many disks and raid/shr?
    Do you have ssd caching?

to see your nas speed you can try amorphousdiskmark to benchmark. Set your speed to the file size of your photos. 16/32/64 mb.
You'll see what your system can do.

I have 10gbe, shr 6 drive setup AND ssd caching. Editing in Capture One 22 was really awful. I could edit 4k video with FCP straight from my NAS with ease. Capture One how ever was really struggeling. Perhaps that is also due to the fact that small files are harder to reach top file transfer speed than big files. Capture One 23 how ever seems to do a bit better. Photomechanic is indeed running soooo much better than C1 from Nas. I agree.

    Some options:
Perhaps you can try (please use a dummy session!!! before you ruine something) playing with the XMP settings in c1.
Perhaps you can encrypt your ssd (data security) and setup Synology Drive for syncing. You can edit from SSD without
you thinking about copying and stuff
Jumbo Frames are maxed? Or perhaps high Jumbo Frames can cause a problem

    Greetings!

it looks like the problem is definitely the NAS system, I have the same issue in Capture one end in photo mechanics as folders from the session grow too big sizes, and the Synology system starts to slow down a lot. It has been a known issue that synology  with their owner raid system has trouble with too many small files, one of the solutions would be to use a proper Raid5 instead of the SHR

It would be nice to see optimization from NAS companies and Capture one.
