Excluding Duplicates on import not recognizing duplicates
After a really bad week of hard drives (main and backup) dying and a corrupted catalogue, I thought that I had recovered and re-synched most of the images to a recovered Catalogue. However, I am pretty sure I missed some.
So, to see if I could figure out what I missed, I did an Import for the drive containing the images (with Exclude Duplicates checked). It came up with 14,000 images it did not identify as duplicates (out of over 47,000). However, I think the majority (but not all of them) are duplicates.
Because I can't compare what is in the Catalogue with the Import function window open, I can't figure out how best to avoid importing thousands of duplicates.
Any suggestions? Thank you

I think I figured out my own problem
I had synced the Catalogue and the folder containing all the images earlier.
I decided to sync again and it found about 2500 images for import. They do look like unique images.
So, I think I am good to go.
Thank you

I'm having a similar issue and can't find answers anywhere. Really frustrating. I have some images on my memory card that I haven't imported yet to C1, but more than half on the card are already imported. I opened my master catalog to import only the new content, so I can wipe my card as I've done for years, and Capture One does NOT recognize or exclude literally thousands of duplicate images in my catalog that are also on the card. I'm pointing it to a folder I have labeled 2023 so you'd think it would find the dupes but it doesn't. There's already a folder there with the same date as the images on the card and all the files have the same file names.
I can't figure out why it's not working. I've never seen this issue in 5 years using Capture One. Any idea how can I make it realize these are the same images?
