Moving catalogs from Older versions into current version 23
I've read all sorts of articles and comments about this, but I'm not sure they apply for what I'm trying to do or they have failed in some way (IE not bringing over included collections, etc) I have Capture One 22 AND Capture One 23 on my Mac. I don't want two programs on my computer, but I want all the catalogs (Separately) in version 23. I did this (in Capture one 22 ironically from older versions), awhile back, so I know it can be done, but have forgotten how and my initial attempt failed.
In Capture one 23, I current have a new catalog called "2023." In Ver 22, I have 2 separate catalogs (2022, and 2021), with images, folders, user collections all tied to them. How do I setup the current version so at the very top on the left under Library, I can select WHICH catalog I want to open/display (meaning having all 3 on this program)?
I tried importing one of those catalogs, but that brought in the contents of Catalog "2022" INTO 2023, which I DONT want to do. So I removed all those folders.
Again, what I want is, as its own catalog. Do I create a new catalog, then import it into the new one? From comments of others, they have had many issues including it not including collections, etc.
I also tried similar with "creating new" catalog, using the same name catalog, then selecting the catalog db, but it said, that name is already in use. So maybe the answer is rename it, but I think that the same as above.
GOSH, I really wish there was such a thing as CAPTURE ONE SUPPORT FOR %$$@! paying customers!! I put in a ticket, but in the past they never get answered. This has to be one of the worse companies (for paying customers' that is) I work with. I hope to come back on here and change my opinion, but for now, I stick by them based upon past experience.

You are over-complicating things! There is no need to import your older catalogs, just open them ion the newer version of Capture One, via File>Open. Capture One will save a backup of the older version of the catalog database, then convert the catalog to version 23. That's all you need to do.

“The joys and challenges of self-help systems when you know the answer must be there but getting to it may not always seem to be obvious or easy!”
Yes, THIS is my largest disappointment with Capture One the business. But I guess it’s the new business model these days. Just create “a community forum” and an FAQ section, done! No difference between paying customers or not. And if you want advertising/promotion….just get “artisans” not associated with the company to do it.
