Keywords: export options
Requested feature
Please add options to exclude keywords on export (specific to each single keyword).
What problem do you see this solving?
If for instance you use general categories for top level keywords (e.g. 'Locations'), and you only want to include lower-level keywords on export (e.g. names of places), it would be useful if you could exclude the top level keywords. In other cases, you may want to exclude a complete subsection of keywords.
Just as an example. If you have the following keyword hierarchy:
Locations
- Europe
- - France
- - - Paris
You would most likely want to include the keywords 'Europe', 'France' and 'Paris' when exporting an image, but not 'Locations'.
When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?
I'm affected by this almost every time I export images from Capture One.
Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One?
I don't currently use any workarounds.
Are you happy to be contacted further about this suggestion or request?
Yes.

Hey there, if you're on Windows I've got a convoluted process to push the keywords into IPTC Description field via XSLT, and then export using the "description" tag.
It's a massive pain, and I wish they'd just support keywords for Export but it's been several years now so I'd not hold your breath.0 -
Thanks. I'm on Mac.
It doesn't look like anything that has to do with metadata of any kind has much priority.

If you have a mechanism on a Mac to apply an XSLT, here's what I use to transpose keywords to IPTC description:
https://gist.github.com/Denyerec/cdd82e9ff3f6ce967b8f13a161da70c7You just have to run it on all XMP files in the folder, re-load metadata into C1 then run your export using Description not Keywords. Maybe someone here can help with how to automate that on OSX.githu
